Tweethearts // Sweethearts Candies

Sweethearts Candies are a Valentine’s Day staple. After all, they’ve been around since Andrew Johnson was president (that's 1866 in case you're no history buff). People are familiar with them but we needed to make them feel, well, not so old. We mashed Sweethearts and Twitter – and called it #Tweethearts. Users simply write a Tweet to create a bag of customized Sweethearts candy hearts; turning something digital into something physical.

We created this romantic hip-hop video to promote it.

These are some of the funnier submissions that were submitted. The butt was a popular subject.

The 55th Valentine

In 2016, Sweethearts Candies was turning 150 years old. As luck would have it, there was another reason to celebrate - Valentine’s Day 2016 was the first Valentine’s Day in history where same sex partners were able to celebrate the holiday as legally married couples. So, we told the story of Jack and George, a couple who have been together for 55 years. The video directed people to ShareYourSweetStory.com where they could upload stories of love and join the celebration.
